The Virtues Project

The purpose of The Virtues Project, is to develop a culture of character, where respect, patience, self discipline, tolerance and joy for leaning, are among the virtues our children master.

We want our school to be a caring community where all students are encouraged to live by the virtues -the best within them.

In early 2003, our staff engaged in professional development to facilitate the introduction of the Virtues project. The project was also introduced to parents in an evening presentation.
The Virtues have now become an integral and natural part of our school.
Recognition is given by the pupil house leaders, presenting the 'Star of the Week' award to students chosen by them, who have displayed a particular virtue in the playground.

In the classroom, Teachers encourage the use of the Virtues language and implement Virtues Acknowledgements and Virtues Corrections where appropriate. Pupils are also nominated for a Virtues Award which is presented to them by the Principal Mr. Fitzgerald at a weekly morning tea for the recipients.
