Purposes
· To avoid overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding
· To ensure that the selection of candidates for enrolment
from outside the school zone, is fair and transparent.
Principles
· Students living within the zone, have the absolute right
to enrol at any time
· No more students are excluded than necessary to avoid
overcrowding
· The zone established will touch or overlap the boundaries
of any neighbouring scheme
· A consultative process will be used to establish the
scheme
· The scheme will be regularly reviewed
Home Zone
The home zone is bounded in the south east by the centerline
of Parsons Street from Great North Road to Somerset Road.
The south western extremity of the home zone is comprised of
properties on both sides of and with access to Somerset Road
and Sussex Road.
In the west the zones extremity is as follows:
Properties with access to and on either side of: Springvale
Road up to Cathro Road (but excluding Cathro Road); Downes
Avenue; Peakes Road; Montgomery Road between its
intersection with Great North Road (State Highway 3) in the
east and Sandcroft Drive in the west (the latter being
excluded from the zone);
Virginia Heights; Great North Road up to and including
Pickwick Road and Dickens Lane; Beachcroft; Turere Place and
Titimoana Place.
In the north east the zone extremity is defined as including
all properties on both sides of and with access to the
following roads (and/or parts of roads):
Great North Road between its intersection with Parsons
Street in the East and Pickwick Road to the West; Kingston
Way; Mannington Road; Edmonds Drive and side streets; and,
Virginia Road and its side streets, including Porritt
Street, Oakland Avenue and any side streets off these.
All properties within the confines of these extremities are
also in zone.

First priority siblings of current students
Second priority siblings of former students
Third priority children of board employees
Fourth priority all other students
